Sis-Q Meadows Senior Youth Camp

The theme this year was “Life is a Highway.” We learned that life goes on whether we want it to or not and that every decision we make doesn’t just affect us, but everyone around.

Karen Curran taught the girls’ class. She presented things in a way that made total sense. Karen challenged us to think about things in a different light than we ever had before. She spoke about all different aspects of relationships and then invited us to share our opinions on the topics. It was neat getting to hear all the different viewpoints from everyone.

One night at fireside a storyteller came to speak. The moral to his story was warning signs and detours in your life. He used red flags to illustrate. Sometimes people leave behind red flags for us as a warning to what’s ahead. But we don’t always choose to pay attention to their warning and don’t realize the hole we’re in until it’s too late.

Larry Zaragoza spoke at firesides and taught the joint class in the mornings. One of the lessons he taught was how much we need to rely on God and let Him be the ruler of our lives. God proves Himself to us time and time again, and if we let Him completely be Lord of our lives, He won’t let us down.

It was a spiritual week for all of us. Fourteen were baptized and seven more chose to get baptized at home.
